Taking a taxi is an easy and comfortable means of transport in Barcelona. They are easy to spot by their black and yellow color. All you have to do is make sure the green light is on and that means the taxi is available
. The price is quite reasonable but please be aware there are extra charges for transport to and from the airport, train stations, luggage, holidays, Sundays, and night shift.
The Metro in Barcelona is probably the fastest means of transport available in the city center. There are 9 lines that are easily distinguished by their color and or number.
It operates Sunday-Thursday 5:00h-24:00h, Friday 5:00h-2:00h, and Saturday 24 hours. Keep in mind on holidays and special events it can stay open longer hours as well.
There are various options for buying a ticket. Depending on your length of stay the most recommended is the T-10. It costs just under 8€ and is good for 10 rides on any public transport. The ticket can be used by various travelers.
Option 1: Taxi
This is the quickest and easiest option but also the more expensive. However, depending on how many people in your group the price can be similiar to the other options. The time is between 20-30min depending on local traffic and expect to pay between 25-30€. If you choose this option you will easily find the taxi runs outside all airport terminals. Simply give the direction to the driver.
Option 2: Aerobus
The Aerobus leaves every 6 minutes from all airport terminals and the cost is 4,25€ from Terminal 2 and 5,00€ from Terminal 1 one way. You can buy a return ticket and save a bit. The buses are easy to find leaving each terminal. Once on the bus you can get off at Plaza España, Plaza Universitat or Plaza Cataluña depending on where you are staying. From there you can take the metro or walk to your apartment, again, depending on where you are staying.
Option 3: Train
The train leaves from Terminal 2 subterminal B. The train runs every day from 6:08h until 23:38h and leaves every 30 minutes. The cost is 2,80€ one way but if you buy a ticket of 10 rides(T10) the cost is 7,70€ and then you can use this ticket on any public transport in Barcelona, including metro, bus, tram, and fgc.You can get off at Sants Estacio whick takes 22 minutes or Passeig de Gracia which takes 26 minutes depending on where you are staying. From there you can transfer to the metro line green or blue within the same station.
